Last Tuesday I went to see Sister Act on Broadway. Sister Act is a Broadway Musical produced by Whoopi Goldberg, based on the hit movie she starred in.
I enjoyed the show. I thought the performers were fantastic, the set and lights looked incredible and the costumes were appropriate to the show, but were given flare. Many of the characters had shining moments during the performance, but my favorites were Patina Miller (Dolores) singing “Fabulous, Baby”, Chester Gregory (Eddie Souther) singing “I Could Be That Guy”, and Carolee Carmello (Mother Superior) singing “I Haven’t Got A Prayer”. The show was also filled with moments that were hilarious. The bulk of the humor was provided by the goofy, dim witted goon TJ played by Demond Green, and the tough Sister Mary Lazarus played by Audrie Neenan. Both delivered comedic moments in the show that were unforgettable, but a personal favorite was a rap number that Lazarus delivered.
