Teenagers from around the tri-state area had the unique opportunity to watch a pre-screening of We TV's "High School Confidential." The program, which launches March 10th at 10PM, is a 7 part series which brings us into the trails and tribulations of 12 girls over their four years in High School. These girls and their parents face issues such as, teen pregnancy, panic attacks, a brain tumor, fear of failing and suicidal tendencies among many other topics. After viewing the screening, TeenNewsNet Reporters got feedback from various teenage girls:
"It was good for me because what they talk about I have a problem with that too. I am from Africa and my parents don't take that kind off stuff. If you have a boyfriend they don't want you to know about it, but you feel like you want to tell them, I wish I came with my Dad because I wanted him to know and see how teenagers really feel when they go to school."
"I really liked it. Where I am from it's taboo to talk about sex. If I talked to my Mom about sex she would probably throw me out of the house. It would be like, "why you thinking about that." And I'm 17 and my Mom says I can't date until I'm 21. I wish my Mom came so she could understand what it feels like. It's a natural thing when your a teenager that it's not a choice that your hormones feel like that. I wish I had parents I could talk to about sex and stuff like that." "[I Learned] to be yourself and realize that there are a lot of other people that have the same problems as you. If you need help with something you can probably find someone to help you."
"I think it is good because there are things I want to tell my parents', but I am too shy to tell them."
