Dear Bryant,
Kudos for your article on Arod and journalistic work ethic of today, when it comes to celebrities.
I find it disturbing that the ethic d'jour seems to dictate an all-out attempt to quench an endless thirst that the public has, for seeing the every waking move; good, bad or indifferent, of celebrities, no matter what is at stake for that celebrity, their family or loved ones. Sadly, there have been so many incidents where people have been hurt, not only with their carreers, but physically harmed and even killed, as was the case with Lady Diana and Dodi Alfaid(?spelling). They are just 1 deadly example of many, I'm certain. Whatever the case, like you, I'm both baffled and outraged by it.
I would also tend to believe that, given the current economic crisis, some who are privvy to any sensitive information that would otherwise never be disclosed, or is legally sealed, as was the case here, those in the know may find themselves questioning their own sense of moral and ethical values. I believe that some in that position might do the right thing and maintain loyalty, while other's won't hesitate to "give it up" for a pay day, a.s.a.p. It just depends on the person, their personality and circumstances.
However, as a Journalist, I'm with you 100%! I applaud your professionalism and work ethic. That was a terrific piece and I hope that it gets the readership it deserves!
Respfully,
Lisa
