Can Alam Five Become Next Hit Brother Act?

Five brothers ranging from 14 to 21, hailing from Ridgefield Park, NJ, created the new hit band, Legend of the Fall. After first stepping onto a stage in April of 2007, the brothers JD, Skyler, Levi, Madison and Casey Jones Alam, knew they were achieving their dream.
JD, 21, is the guitarist, Skyler, 20, is 
the drummer, Levi, 18, the pianist, Madison, 16, the bass, and Casey Jones, 14, also the guitarist. All are fortunate enough to be vocalists as well, creating a diverse sound for the group. So are these guys the next Jonas Brothers? “ The Jonas Brothers are good, but our music is so far away from there’s because our songs are more serious and about our personal lives,” Madison explains. Legend of the Fall is a mix of bands varying from underoath to All Time Low, but are generally classified as pop. Most songs, however, have a deep meaning because the group wishes to keep their individuality. “The songs are mostly based on our daily lives,” Madison states. Besides himself, JD and Levi write most of their songs.

The name Legend of the Fall came from brainstorming at the kitchen table. “When we first started, we didn’t have a name, so we took an hour or two to “brainstorm” ideas, which was basically picking names out of a hat,” Madison reflects. "Our dad said how about Legend of the Fall?” he continues, "and thankfully we pulled that name from the hat because our other names were unfinished sentences
As the groups popularity has grown over the past few years, so has their confidence. “It's funny you know,” Madison went on to say, “because we all play a lot better now”. They have been experimenting at a couple of shows as well, ranging from interacting with the crowd to actual stage diving. However, it is not easy being a brother band along with the demands of making it in the business. "Brothers and band members always fight," Madison tells me, "but their also always that moment after the fight, when you forget what you were actually fighting about, and it’s like it never happened.” As most celebrities will tell you being popular can also be lonely. Often you do not know who are your true friends and who are there for the 'joy ride.' Unfortunately, Madison went on to stress that it’s difficult to decide which people really want to be your friend because of you, not just because you’re famous.

asked what “popularity” has done to their relationship as brothers, Madison commented saying Besides their education, JD is known as the technician concerning music, such as amplifiers. Skyler and Madison are both into gymnastics and dance, “but not ballroom dancing of course, “Madison confirmed. Levi DJs part time and Casey Jones is all about the music 24/7. Along with his brothers, Madison shares the same dream of becoming successful musicians, while not losing who they are. “No one has changed in our family, and we all like it that way,” Madison says. In their free time, the Alam brothers are just regular guys. Casey Jones and Madison are still attending High School, and Levi, Skyler and JD are attending Ruckards College. “OMG, it already has been hard managing high school and the new famous life and it’s definitely hard to juggle,” Madison stresses, “but somehow, I’m managing it.”

A winter tour is in the works, as they have been getting out of just performing in their hometown. They also hope to play at either Bamboozle or Warp Tour next year, but this year they have been performing at various concerts, including one with Redjumpsuit Apparatus.
Since their first gig at their spring fling, and the night before at an open mic night at their church, the Alam brothers have filled the hearts of all their fans. “Any band should never really give up, because you will never know who will find you.” They want to get out there, “but not like the Britney Spears episode, more like All Time Low.” Like a Kiss situation, Legend of the Fall doesn’t know what comes next, but they will always be close.
