“If you had super powers…
What would you want them to be and how would you use them?”

If I were a child, I would want to be exactly like the common super heroes like Batman or Superman. I am not a child though. I’m a 16 year old girl. I am pretty sure I am not from a different planet and I think that the weird spandex suit would be inevitable. It’s either that or some other costume. That’s not the point though.
I would want amazing mind skills. It’s odd. But let’s take a minute to ponder this... I would be able to move things with my mind. I would probably have the ability to set people in any state of mind; make them at ease or something like that. I would have the ability to hypnotize as well as read minds. I could also move things with my mind. Basically, I would have total control of any situation and get major enjoyment from looking into other peoples thoughts. It’s kind of nosy, but probably really convenient. Scratch that, it will, most definitely be convenient! Also, I would be able to fly because that’s just easier to get someplace quickly and super agility to dodge any attack.
Besides using them for typical things a teenage girl would, if I were a super hero, I would use them to defeat evil. I would have some sort of detector in my “Minds Eye” to notify me of any evil thoughts being put into action by evil doers. I would then “suit up” and fly to the scene of the crime. Then I would be a part of some awesome action-packed fight and save the day. I would defeat the evil doer and his/her henchmen with my awesome mind abilities. I would lift objects with my “Minds Strength” and then use my agility to avoid being hit. I might also freeze bullets if they’re shot with my “Minds Freeze”. Do not confuse this with brain freeze, which is merely caused by consuming cold items at a rapid pace, they are not the same!
For all of my crime fighting, I would definitely have an alter ego. That comes with the “job” of being a super hero. My name would be mysterious, catchy, and very cool. Benevolence.

Aside from being a super hero, I would be a student. I would have that Kim Possible thing going on, except I’m not some lame Cheerleader who saves the world. The girl is average. She’s nothing extraordinary in school, but she isn’t a complete nerd either. She’s smart, funny, and witty.
As I am writing this “essay”, I can picture this extremely clearly. However , you, the reader, may not envision what I have in mind. It is left to the creativity of the wondrous process of the imagination.
Picture this..
“Benevolence” is having a normal day at school or is out with friends. She then appears dazed as she has a vision of an evil doer. She excuses herself and rushes to change. She then departs and lets her minds eye guide her, etc. In the midst of this, there’s the hardships of keeping her alter ego an identity from those she loves. There will definitely be that one nosy person who people think is paranoid because they claim that so and so is Benevolence. But isn’t that how all the stories go?
Maybe she can team up
with someone. There’s the appearance of another hero and there’s a competition on which one is the “town’s hero” or whatever. Then they team up and are this super hero duo. They discover they have a common arch enemy. During their time together, maybe they fall in love? Then there’s some jealousy thrown in between a normal person who loves her and the super hero she’s teamed up with, who also happens to love her.
Action, conflict (internal and external), suspense, all these terms come to mind as I picture this all going on. Hopefully you can see what I envision.
